Our area here in Henry and Patrick Counties in Virginia has been hit with huge job loss and yes even Krogers is closing it store on 220 south in Martinsville, Va. with that comes more job losses and everyone knows when jobs leave then there is food problems. I have letters from area Chamber of commerce and from local food banks stating that the hunger problem is growing beyond what they can do. our area food banks and churches are doing all they can but there is still a lot of families trying just to make it from month to month. Social Services at various time has helped all they could. But the problem is still growing, and with Our grocery store closing it will put a harder burden on families far as gas to get to the other krogers for some dont like food lion in our area. But I could go on a length on this but i will get to the point. We need about 15 acres to build a farmers for the hunger market on it, greenhouses and shelter for a lot of the homeless and we could offer them shelter and food in return for just a few hours of work on the farm till they get back on there feet again. I am on SSDI and my fiance' is currently looking for employment and we cannot afford to pay this entire amount now at one time. Guess what? It didn't.I too am behind in rent and utilities. i got to food banks/pantries, but my son who is 15 requires more than what we get. His father is absent, behind in child support, and my son needs medical attention for a chest deformity. I don't like asking for handouts, but I too need help...any financial help is appreciated.

in response to JayJay62389...We have all made mistakes with credit cards, you are not alone. First off, regardless of what the credit card companies collections tells you, they can not just seize your check. This is a threat they use very often even though it is against federal law. The company needs to sue you first. Due to the level of balance on the card this would take place in small claims court. The court proceeding would take no more than 20 minutes and a judgment will be filed against you. However, even with the judgement, they have to wait 30 days to execute on the judgement. During this time you can actually sit down and negotiate a deal to pay towards your debt that fits within your budget.
It is a minimum of 40 days from the date you are served with the lawsuit until they can even think about touching your paycheck. (I've been down this road before so I speak from experience.)
As for the hospital bill, send them $25 a month until you can pay more. As long as you send them something each month, they won't bother you. (Again, I've been down this road as well.)

I'm only 22 yrs old when i was 18 i made a horrible choice to obtain a credit card i had used the card while i was suspended from work to help pay bills for car phone and weekly supplies that my check would have paid for. I was no where near knowledgeable of how credit cards worked i had not cancelled my card and it collected late payment charges along with interest now its $2400 and they are trying to seize my checks from work i live pay check to check and its still not nearly enough. I was also in the hospital that yr which i had not had insurance i owe them 1g as well. This past yr me and my bf were forced to move out of our apartment due to condemned building. we were than left with 5 days to remove all of our stuff or risk being arrested we had left a lot of our stuff there and were left with no where to live. I had to spend all my checks on hotels, food and gas. That resulted in my phone bill racking up to $950. I need help please someone pray for me.

hello every one i have a really big problem and i dont know how to make it any better or get the help i really need i have looked in to everything i can think of and got nothing im a 23 year old living on his own out of my car now i had lost my job due to to many people working at the place i was at my girl friend has tried everything she can think of cause to help us ge a place but with her being the only one of us with a job right now its kinda hard i was staying with my girl friend because i had been kicked out of the place i was staying at due to the people i was living with because they wanted my whole pay check every two weeks for things that were not needed to have a place so one day i came home from work to find all my belongings out on the street in the snow so my girl friend let me stay with her and her room mates but . her room mates had kicked me out also because they have another girl moving in on the tenth of this month so i had to leave on the first i have been living out of my car in the dead of winter and my girl friend and i have tried everything to get us a place she works full time and i have been calling and filling out job apps like a mad man just to get another job to help out and she dont want me to live in my car you wouldnt let you're partner live in theres would you ? so is there any place or people out there that care enought to help some one in my need out ? i havent found any one my family wont her's wont we are stuck in a rock and a hard place can any one give me any info or anything

I am employed FT...I work extremely hard and live paycheck to paycheck....I was injured just before Thanksgiving this year, was forced to go into work by my supervisors as I am a member of management further injuring myself but no way to prove it. I cant work again until I am released by my doctor to do 100% of my duties yet my short term disaability is stalled due to my doctor not properly completing the paperwork, I make too much to get assistance (even though I am maing nothing all this month) I have used all of my vacation and my sick time, I have no way to pay my rent $750, my power almost $300 (yes its been freezing and I live in a old doublewide), my cell phone almost $150 because Verizon cant verify I am still employed for my discount...total $1200...basically all bills I normally pay and have enough left for food and fuel....fortunately I am a mild food horder so I have plenty to get by....I normally am able to give soo much to those in need at this time of year through $$$ donations, helping with food and cooking at the shelters, this year I cant so I am so happy to see that contributions are up from years past. I could repay any help received or pay it forward once back to work but I am hoping and praying for my own Christmas miracle this year. When you say bogging do you mean under acceleration , at a stop? does the engine rev but the car doesnt respond? describe it as fully as possible. also which motor is in it and when was your last use up?(sparkplugs, fuel filter air filter, etc.

I am trying to piece it back to working order piece by piece. People have told me they are not a welcoming job, so I have learned by online to fix things myself, which i have no problem with its is kind of a good feeling to get it done yourself. I am so frustrated. I have given help to salvation army and food drive and clothing drives even toy drives. I am not a wealthy person obviously. I am at my wits end. I have been scammed and lied to and even belittled. I have two jobs and now this time I am in desperate need of some assistance. I was wondering also when you call the car donation companies they have none available or none in your area, worst is I got to there was none available in my area but if I would like to donate my car they could repair it for a needy family. I was shocked, they would repair if donated nut not help me repair it when I am in need too. I need some help for repairs or some money for down payment for another used car that can get me through the winter. Please any advice I would appreciate. I never thought by giving all these years would hurt so much when you get turned down yourself when you need it......

The person that wrote about getting out of debt is correct, but maybe there are other alternatives, like bankruptcy, debt consolidation, or negotiating with your creditors.
I was informed yesterday that my child needs braces. I didn't think his teeth were crooked. The dentist informed me that it isn't crooked teeth he needs braces for but because his teeth are not aligned properly. If not corrected his lower teeth will continue to rub the back of his upper front teeth until they wear down and he will lose them. My son is 14 and I do not want this to happen to him. My husband and I both work and will put what we can towards it but there is know way we can get him braces on our own.
